About Me
My name is Franco Dominic Valdecanas, but everyone calls me Nicky.
I am a recent graduate from Sonoma State University, and I'm actively searching for my first full-time employment opportunity in Software Development.
I hope to find one in Software Engineering, Data Science, or any position where I can contribute as a member of a software team.
I currently work part-time as a Volunteer Full-Stack Developer at Developer For Good, a company that helps develop tools and web applications for nonprofits.
My goal for my software career is to become a Software Engineer, where I can comfortably solve problems and express my creativity
Education
I receieved my B.S in Computer Science from Sonoma State University in 2020. Relevant coursework included Data Strucutres & Algorithms, Software Development, Database Management, Machine Learning, and Human Computer Interaction
Programming
As an aspiring Software Engineer, the best way I learn is through making end-to-end projects. I am currently most comfortable using Javascript, Python, and the MERN stack for Full-Stack development but I'm always up for learning new frameworks
Hobbies
I enjoy playing and teaching tennis, creating Youtube videos, and listening to and making music. *I try* I currently work part-time as a Tennis-Instructor and Hitting-Partner for adult beginners to top-ranked junior players
